Dynamix Testimonials
We need a short video about WHAT Dynamix means to you and how the closure would affect you and your way of life.
Submit your video testimonial via WeTransfer to [email protected]. It's quick and simple to send a video from your phone or computer.
The closure doesn't simply stop a skatepark from operating. Dynamix serves a much greater purpose for the community throughout Newcastle and Gateshead by providing a safe space for young people as well as a community hub for people of all ages. If the skatepark is closed, there will be no indoor facility of its kind in the region meaning kids will have nowhere to go in the winter or dark nights.
You may use Dynamix for many of the sports and activities it offers. To train, learn and improve your skills. For some, it is a meeting place, to gather socially and catch up with friends you wouldn't ordinarily be able to. For some, it acts as a community centre for those who need somewhere to feel welcome, friendly and safe. It provides somewhere out of the cold, rain and darkness in winter to continue practising their sports.
These videos will be edited together and submitted to the council to appeal their decision to close Dynamix for good on 17th November 2020.
If you'd like to help further, please contact Gary Haley, ([email protected]) portfolio holder for Children and Young People for Gateshead who has failed to engage with us since he took on this role, despite saying that he would (more than a year ago now), and/or the Director of Planning at Gateshead Council, Anneliese Hutchinson ([email protected]).
Thank you, Rosa.
