Social Media Plan for Carpet and Flooring Studio, Benton Road
An effective social media presence is an essential tool for ANY BUSINESS. Whether you're a super small business or manage several outlets. I help you communicate and represent yourself through the main social media platforms and provide regular content updates on your behalf, leaving you to crack on with work and customer satisfaction.
Social media is a way to communicate your business to potential customers and offer them an insight into what to expect and create a good impression before they've even called or visited your showroom. You can show them what kind of business you are, show off your knowledge, advice and expertise, and instil a confidence in prospective customers that you are the best choice.
Content YOU should be putting out on your social feeds include:
The purpose of your social media feed
The purpose of your social media feeds are to create a good impression with prospective customers who are looking to buy carpets. Essentially, if they are looking between 2 or 3 potential retailers, WHY CHOOSE YOU? If a buyer Googles carpet retailers and one has a showroom, samples, friendly staff and great reviews, how do they separate that from a warehouse on an industrial estate that sells carpets cheap for cash with no guarantee of quality?
Take a look at the Facebook page for 2 local MOT garages in North Tyneside. Which one would you have more faith in visiting?:
Waterville Road MOT Centre | or | Wallsend Test Centre
One of them is my client, the other is not 🙂
What will I be doing?
I'll take care of everything to do with your social feeds, on Facebook and Instagram, except customer queries. You guys handle any questions and queries as you're the experts! I'll create the content, photograph products, showroom, jobs when applicable and post on your behalf independently, so you never have to worry about what is going out, when and how to do it. You'll see a beautiful, well produced feed of content going out that makes you stand apart from the competition.
My job is to think of ideas, create content and publish it in a way you may have missed or not thought about. For example, putting out photos of products but not including a logo, contact number or address. I'm also your go-to for creating promos for special offers or messaging. i.e. "Mark, please create a post about our Christmas opening times".
I will learn your business and industry and will continually improve my knowledge and understanding of your business and market. Don't be afraid to steer me in the right direction if you think I'm not communicating you correctly.
A social feed is essentially keeping your business relevant without continuously trying to sell to customers, but giving them all the road signs into your business and maintaining brand recognition.
What I won't be doing
Chasing likes and guaranteeing a number of sales. It's just not realistic. Putting a photo out of your team installing a carpet isn't going to gather a load of likes. Who's going to see a guy tacking in a carpet and hit like? Or if you have a 50% off sale, people aren't going to hit like. Likes don't translate to sales. But, if we can get eyeballs on content, people are seeing your business, your brand and your products. You're not selling cheap, impulse buy products where someone is going to click buy there and then, because it showed up in their feed.
Getting more page likes
The most realistic way to get more people liking and following your page is through an ongoing ad campaign. This puts your page and business in front of new people on social media, with the hope of capturing their interest and getting them to like/follow your feed. I would create these ads and manage them for you.
The ad budget would be agreed and billed separately to my fee.
Alongside an ad campaign would be a giveaway in the form of "LIKE our page, and tag 3 people, to win". This has to be something that people would react to and actually want to win. For example, "FREE fitting of your carpet (when you buy carpet for your whole house)" isn't going to get new followers. Why? Because who's sitting there scrolling through Facebook or Instagram willing to impulsively carpet their whole house because they may get free fitting IF they follow a page and IF they win the competition?
Hampers, restaurant vouchers, supermarket gift cards all make for great giveaways and impulsive follows/shares...

Content YOU should be putting out on your social feeds include:
- What do you sell, pricing and opening times.
- Do you offer any finance, payment plans, buy now pay later etc.
- SHOW the physical store - let people know you're not a warehouse.
- SHOW staff in the store and out on jobs.
- Before, during and after photos of installations.
- Customer reviews - people may be leaving them on Google, Facebook, Trustpilot etc, but cherry-pick the best reviews and show them across your feeds, alongside content so customers don't need to leave your page to view reviews.
- Connect with/show off your suppliers and who you work with. The more local, the better.
- Advice for people buying about carpet types, underlay types, what's best for what etc.
- Aftercare for particular flooring types - shows you knowledge and passing on tips for customers

Choosing the right underlay is just as important as selecting the perfect flooring! Don't have a clue which one you need? Here’s a quick guide:
◾ Foam Underlay - Great for general use, foam underlay provides basic comfort and support, making it an economical choice for areas with less traffic. ◾ Rubber Underlay - Ideal for high-traffic areas, rubber offers superior soundproofing and moisture resistance. It's perfect for dampening noise and providing a soft feel underfoot. ◾ Felt Underlay - Made from recycled fibres, felt is an eco-friendly option that delivers excellent thermal insulation and durability. It's best for areas where warmth and sound reduction are priorities. Each type has its unique benefits, ensuring comfort and extending the life of your flooring. Want to know more? Laminate flooring is a stylish and durable choice for any home, but proper care is key to keeping it looking its best. Here are some easy tips to maintain and clean your laminate floors:
◾ Regular Sweeping - Use a soft-bristle broom or a dust mop daily to remove dirt and debris that can scratch the surface. ◾ Mop Correctly - Damp mop your floors weekly with a microfiber mop and a laminate-specific cleaner. Avoid using too much water, as laminate can warp if it gets too wet. ◾ Spot Cleaning - Spills should be wiped up immediately with a damp cloth. For tough stains like ink or oil, use a little acetone on a clean white cloth, then wipe with a damp cloth. ◾ Avoid Scratches - Place protective pads under furniture legs and use rugs in high-traffic areas to prevent wear. ◾ No Wax or Polish - Laminate flooring doesn’t need wax or polish. Using these products can dull the surface and cause issues. By following these simple steps, your laminate floors will continue to add warmth and beauty to your home for years to come! ✨ #CarpetAndFlooringStudio #LaminateFloorCare |

Why upgrade your social media feed?
It's important to use social media to communicate who you are. Most businesses use social media to stay 'relevant' or maintain customers. It also shows that you're up-to-date with current trends and not afraid to be a part of it. If you're one of the businesses making use of social media, you're doing more than businesses that aren't.
The power of social media
Does your staff wear uniforms or branded clothing? Are they presentable?
If so, show it off with photos. It can make a huge amount of difference if people see photos of your staff with a smile on their face, laughing or looking like they're having a good time/happy. It communicates a happy environment, and that usually means the business is well-run, and the service will be good.
Do you have great customer reviews?
If so, show them off! If you have great reviews, showcase them. When a company isn't showing off their positive reviews, customers think why? Don't they have good reviews? Surely if they did, they would be shouting about it.
High-quality photos of staff at work and the business premises
An iPhone allows for quick and easy photos, but the eye of a photographer and a little extra equipment can tell much more of a story in a single image that will help communicate your business. A few well taken photos of your showroom, products and goings-on, will make a huge difference.

Why have a social media manager?
That's me. While you're managing staff and customers, I'll be creating and publishing your content. With a range of tools at my disposal, I create content within your business' branding that will effectively engage with your audience and represent your business on a regular, consistent basis. Keeping an eye on competitors and ensuring your business is being communicated throughout the week without missing a beat, leaving you to do what you do best, and not worrying about this 'social media malarkey'.
